To complain about noises, please call the environmental protection special line
The department of environmental protection reminds the residents that if there are problems about noises, please dial the environmental protection hotline (27206301~2) to report. A staff of the department will go to the site to investigate. Please avoid reporting via the website or official paper otherwise the case would be delayed.
According to the department of Environmental Protection, the number of reports on noise complain has been increasing in recent years. In 2004, there are 9,372 cases. In 2005, there are 11,419 cases. The growth is 22%. However, the department has noticed that more than 60 persent of the cases cannot be found or measured. The main reason is because the information provided by the residents is not clear, which includes the time of the occurrence of the noise, the location of the noise, the unidenfication of the noise source and the person who reports does not want to leave any information for contact and confirmation. In addition, the un-identified noise source and the stopped noise source during inspection such as building construction, road construction, PA facilities etc. are reasons that cannot make efficient inspection.
The department suggests residents to report via the hotline with detalied location of the noise pollution, the noise source and time. This will help the inspiectors to work efficiently in the most appropriate time. Do not report via the official report or website. In addition, leave the contact telephone number, if possible, to allow the inspectors to contact you and let you know the result of the inspection.
